With less than a month away from Wassailfest, the cherished event returns to the Hill Country on December 2nd after being canceled in 2020. There’s no better early Christmas gift than that!

Wassailfest is a free, annual New Braunfels Christmas tradition that dates back nearly three decades to 1992. It takes place on the first Thursday of December in Downtown New Braunfels. Created as a project to showcase downtown businesses, Wassailfest has become a Hill Country favorite that brings the community together. With various free samples of wassail and German hot apple cider, 100,000 Christmas lights, and carolers, you nearly feel like you’re in the North Pole!

Wassail is a spiced apple cider with cinnamon and hints of citrus. It’s best served warm, especially on a wintery night, and is guaranteed to send the Christmas spirit straight to your tongue.  During the event, wassail vendors are entered into the annual Wassailfest Wassail Meister competition. The samples are presented to a panel that blind-judge the cider to determine winners.

When you attend the event, make sure to do some holiday shopping! Downtown businesses in New Braunfels have delightful candles and ornaments that will make perfect stocking stuffers for your family this holiday season. To top it all off, this year one of our team members, Wade Bowen, will be taking the stage!

As a New Braunfels Custom Home Builder, we’re proud of this tradition and can’t wait to see you there!
